O imperativo que tantas dificuldades traz ao estrangeiro que aprende a nossa língua ( dizer - diga!; falar - faça!), em inglês é facílimo! Para construí-lo, na forma afirmativa, basta eliminar o to do infinitivo, e, na forma negativa, acrescentar don't ao infinitivo sem to.

Pare com esse barulho!
Ao contrário das demais formas do verbo em inglês, não exige um sujeito explícito. Como usamos para se referir diretamente a uma pessoa, se fôssemos colocar um sujeito seria YOU.
(You) Stop that noise!
Para fazer a forma negativa usamos o Don't na frente do verbo sem to,
Don't tell anybody!
Não diga a ninguém!
Para amenizar o imperativo, torná-lo mais educado, acrescenta-se um please.
Answer the phone, please!
Atenda o telefone, por favor!
